SOAR Training
Parkwyn Training & Consulting (PTC) offers a new approach to SOAR training. Through a streamlined ‘Six Phase’ process, trainees will gain a deep understanding of the SOAR model of SSI/SSDI application assistance in an accessible and engaging format. This instructor-led, interactive training provides opportunities for discussion, problem solving real-world scenarios, and hands-on activities.
Follow-up connection and guidance bridge the gap between training and implementation, empowering SOAR-trained providers to approach their first applications with confidence!

Training Options

In this one-day training, providers will learn the critical components of the SOAR model and be guided step-by step through the process of completing and submitting a SOAR-assisted SSI/SSDI application. Through hands-on exercises, trainees will practice completing SSA forms, draft key sections of the Medical Summary Report (MSR), and explore best practices for effective collaboration with the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Disability Determination Services (DDS). Upon completion, participants will be recognized as SOAR-trained providers, equipped with the tools and confidence to support individuals through the SSI/SSDI application process.

SOAR Plus! is our most comprehensive training option! It builds on the SOAR Foundations training by adding a 2nd day to take a deeper dive into the SSI/SSDI application process and further strengthen trainees’ skills and confidence. Day 2 includes a review of key concepts, dedicated time for Q&A, and collaborative problem-solving around real-world scenarios and challenges. Communities will also select two supplemental training topics in advance, ensuring the content is tailored to local needs and priorities. By the end of SOAR Plus! training, providers will feel ready to complete SOAR-assisted applications and navigate challenges with confidence!
