Our work extends beyond SOAR-assisted applications. We recognize that a strong, working knowledge of the Social Security Disability benefits process can be instrumental to those who support SOAR providers or SSI/SSDI applicants. These sessions give SOAR-trained providers and those who supervise or work alongside them an opportunity to revisit key components of the SOAR process and refresh their knowledge

These virtual supplemental sessions are designed to meet the unique needs of your state, community, or agency by strengthening capacity for effective disability benefits advocacy.

  • Understanding Social Security Disability Benefits

    Designed for those who will not be directly completing SSI/SSDI applications but still need a solid working knowledge of the Social Security Administration’s disability determination process and the SOAR model.

    Ideal for those who supervise, support, or refer to SOAR-trained providers.

  • SOAR Refresher

    Designed for providers who have previously completed the SOAR Online Course or attended a SOAR Plus! training. We review the core components of the SOAR model, introduce and reinforce the Functional Assessment Statement (FAST), and explore strategies for resolving common issues encountered when completing SOAR-assisted applications.

    Offers time for open discussion and Q&A about barriers direct service providers are currently facing.
